CRITICAL SOFTWARE – Senior AI Engineer
Senior AI Engineer at Critical Software, has more than 15 years of experience in Software Engineering and Artificial Intelligence Research. Whilst completing the M.Sc. degree started his research career at CISUC working on multi-agent systems for the social sciences. After a brief stint at Critical Software where he incepted his software engineering career working on a Defense project, he continued his research path at the European Space Agency. There he developed an end-to-end AI application for operations, researching meta-heuristics for capacity allocation. He went on to pursue the doctoral degree in Artificial Intelligence at the University of Coimbra, specializing in Evolutionary Computation. During that time, he was a researcher at CISUC and Assistant Professor at the university. Later he joined INESC TEC as a post-doc fellow, where he built on his track-record of inter-disciplinary research developing end-to-end AI solutions for logistics management in Healthcare and the Pharmaceutical industry, for the Oil and Gas industry, and for Precision Agriculture. During this time, he was also an Assistant Professor at the Polytechnic Institute of Porto. After 10 years in the academy he re-joined Critical Software, integrating the Artificial Intelligence team at the company, where he has been the technical lead for AI in several projects.
